Saw the Rolling Stones play there in October 1965.  All you could hear was girls screaming!  My ears were still ringing three days later!!!  It was 30 years before I went to see them again at Don Valley Stadium.

Never saw a film at the Gaumont but did accompany a school friend after she won 2 tickets in a competition to see the Walker Brothers. Saturday October 15th 1966 Front Row seats that would have cost 15/- each. Much more expensive than the City Hall. On the bill with the Walker Brothers were The Troggs dressed in their stripey suits that looked like pyjamas. The colourful Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich. Clodagh Rodgers, The Montanas and The Quotations compered by Don Crockett.

Lots of pictures of the cinema just added to Picture Sheffield. Plus other cinemas too. Just select the new images tab there.
