Mystery photo

One for the sleuths amongst you.  The following photo I am told is of my great uncle's birthplace, Egerton Lane.  Google maps shows a very different view and I wonder if the placing of this photo is entirely accurate.  Can anyone recognise the shops and therefore the address.  I would be most grateful:-

I maybe wrong on this but wasn’t Egerton Lane at the top of the Moor ?

I think that’s one of the shops that Robert Bros used at the end of the war.

There’s definitely those on here who’ll have the exact info

It's Button Lane, photographed from Moorhead.  Have a look at this thread:

Egerton Lane was parallel to Milton Street, off Fitzwilliam Street.

Sorry Edmund, I was purely going on the picture as my recollection of Moor Head. I wasn’t sure what the Lane was called but now I do remember it as Button Lane

Thanks

I recall a sort of junk yard on Button Lane, my grandfather used to love rooting around in it. I can’t bring anything else so clearly to mind, however some of you guys might jog my vastly diminishing memory into life.

Thank you very much for the clarification.

Cheers, however nothing has managed to jog my memory, the strange thing is that the only landmark that I recall, that being the junk yard, is missing from all the photos, I reckon that it was temporary usage of the site of a bombed building.
