Sheffield History
ALL IN A DAY - THE CITY This documentary filmed in Sheffield is definitely worth a watch as there are some really great shots of Sheffield and of course the fact that everything happening in it happened in just one day in the city of Sheffield Plenty of recognisable Sheffield filming locations in this one to hunt down and identify! Have a watch - see what you think!
Sheffield History
In this scene a Sunblest van for some bizarre reason seems to have reversed down a road, through a brick wall and down into someone's house! Quite a remarkable scene and on a day that this Sheffield documentary was being filmed Woud love to know how a Sunblest van ends up in someone's living room like this Anyone know the location of this one? Sheffield History
Imagine sitting with a cup of tea in your living room watching the TV and a huge Sunblest bread van ending up coming through your front window 🤣
Sheffield History
A Sheffield documentary wouldn't be a Sheffield documentary without obligatory shots of Park Hill and Hyde Park flats and All In A Day is no exception with a sweeping view of Park Hill and Skye Edge and a look over to Hyde Park Anyone able to guess where this filming location was shot from? Sheffield History
Meanwhile back at the Sunblest Bread Van accident we see a rescue operation underway to recover the vehicle and get it out of the living room of the homeowner Using chains and ramps the van is dragged up the ramp and out of the front of the house, spilling some of it's load as it leaves the scene Reporters from The Sheffield Star are here taking photos for the paper and getting ready to write up this remarkable story! Sheffield History
In this shot the camera zooms away from Firth Brown , towards Sheffield City Centre and drops down into The Hole In The Road It's a great shot - would love to see a higher quality version of the low res one here! Sheffield History
In this strange scene I have absolutely no idea what is going on but let me tell you what I think is going on First of all this is before my time so I'm not aware of the actual reality here but it seems that for some reason one of the staff at the department store overlooking the Hole In The Road in Sheffield City Centre decides to spend her lunch hour modelling dresses some kind of upper floor restaurant or cafe? Whatever is happening it must have been extremely awkward for customers enjoying a cream tea or afternoon lunch to have some random woman come strutting up to your table and standing next to you forcing you to check out the dress she's wearing 🤣 Can anyone fill me on on what's really happening here? Am I close?
Sheffield History
The next scene is even stranger in The Black Swan pub on the corner of Snig Hill and Bank Street just down from the old ABC Cinema In this scene for some reason a glam rock lady is up on a stage dancing like a wild child for the entertainment of a load of older Sheffield blokes Does anyone remember this kind of thing happening in The Black Swan? Am I close? Yeah, pretty much except they were models rather than staff members on their break. I never went in the cafe, but they used to wander around the rest of the shop to advertise the womens clothing department. in the 1980s and 90s

Alastair
It was the John Walsh department store. They had models wandering around displaying their latest women's fashions to increase sales, mainly in the womenswear department and cafe.
