Sheffield History
THE FULL MONTY FILMING LOCATIONS - INFIRMARY ROAD SHEFFIELD Here we see Gaz walking up the hill and onto Infirmary Road A bit of movie magic is applied here also in terms of actual filming locations as the road he walks up is not the road he comes out of onto Infirmary Road! Take another look at the first photo of Gaz walking up the hill - do you recognise it? Can you help us identify which road he's walking up? If so post below

Hopman
My guess would be Balaclava Road. It's blocked off at the bottom end. The white line runs from the bottom of the ski slope, past the circle that was the gas holder and continues through the Infirmary Road Aldi. Balaclava Road is close by and the Council website shows planning permission granted for new buildings at Antiquity Ltd on this road.

Sheffield History
The white paint on the brickwork on the very right of the picture is throwing me - that's either the Salvation Army building on Infirmary Road or it's a building that has been replaced? Sheffield History
What about Flora Street? Could it have been this road? Has it always gone down to Penistone Road or was it once a dead end like seen in the movie?

Sheffield History
Looking at an existing map and an older map it looks like Gertrude Street ran from Infirmary Road down to Penistone Road and sat between Wood Street and Flora Street The road doesn't exist anymore - it is now completely gone and a supermarket/shopping area and car park in it's place! Bonniedog
A late reply the first photo. yep it was Gertrude street. as stated in other contributions the road no longer exists, on Gaz,s right was Don joinery’s old building , they had just moved out a couple of months beforehand , to the right of the bollards at the bottom (out of shot )was the rear entrance to motorcycle shop Leather & Simpson (front entrance was on the next road , flora street) second photo Shows Gaz on infirmary road, in the film made to look like he had come up the hill and out at the top but in fact edited and comes up Barrack Lane (next to the Salvation Army building) , which is two roads down from Gertrude street heading towards town I remember seeing the camera and film crew setting up in that area one evening ( Late may June ???) but obviously no clue at the time what it was about !
