Sheffield History
THE FULL MONTY FILMING LOCATION - PARKWOOD SPRINGS SHEFFIELD In this scene Gaz and Dave are out jogging and discussing Gaz's idea of doing a strip show. As they jog along they come to a car filling up with exhaust fumes and Dave stops to help This is where we first see the character Lomper played by Steve Huison, sat in his car depressed about losing his job and having no work. It's a dark but funny scene The filming location is Parkwood Springs in Sheffield, right next to Sheffield Ski Village and the roads you see the lads jogging along are Mount Road and Pickering Road. The trees you see planted on either side of the road (where there used to be houses!) are now fully grown and the area is overgrown and has been the site of travellers camps over the years. Finding the roads is easy but walking up and down them now isn't as safe as you would like so it's hard to recommend paying it a visit. To find it head up Vale Road and park right at the very top where Sheffield Ski Village is. The entrance to Mount Road and Pickering Road is on your left right at the top. But again please be warned it's not the safest of sites to wander around!

Hopman
Quote As they jog along they come to a car filling up with exhaust fumes and Dave stops to help My recollection of this scene was that Lomper was having trouble starting his car, so this was why Dave stopped to help.

Yes that's what Dave thought so stopped to help and started diagnosing his engine, but the reality was darker than that as Lomper was there at the end of his tether with being jobless and had connected his exhuast to his cabin with a rubber pipe
