ROGERS SILVER PLATING SHEFFIELD copy.jpg

Here's an image of a worker electroplating table forks and spoons in a silver bath in Roger's plating works in Sheffield

Can anyone provide any more detail on this photo, and Rogers Plating Works?

Looking at the plater who is wearing a collar and tie to work isn’t something you would see on the shop floor now but I would say he’s working in the Joseph Rogers works that stood at the bottom of Norfolk Street, they did also have a very large works situated in  Pond Hill, I couldn’t really say if they operated both works at the same time or when they moved to Pond Hill when the Norfolk Street premises were demolished.
