Hello everyone. Just beginning this topic to illustrate areas of my childhood 1951 onwards. Please add images and memories relating to Aston, Swallownest. Killamarsh and Woodhouse. I have almost completed my new book with memories of these places of my childhood. All new contributions are welcome. Other areas also to be included are Aston, Ulley, Richmond, Millhouses and Abbeydale. Many more images will be added (contributions welcome).Killamarsh02.jpg.a68e0ca37489ea4ae94a4bdc5a3e4de3.jpgWoodhouse02.png.1883c388758aebaf006d6939e2e7e2c5.png

I hope you'll be including Woodhouse Grammar School, where my Dad was Head of English from 1948 (approx.) to 1962. The headmaster at that time was Frank Pinion.

I sometimes went with my Dad to a barber's which I think was near the school. It was run by Henry Wheeler who always cut Dad's hair brutally short at the sides, I think he must have learned his trade on soldiers.
