I must have walked past this hundreds of time times but never noticed it before. What does it mean?

Its on Ashfurlong road next to a footpath, reads [A St. J.C.C. 1877 No 3]

Thanks everyone, excellent deduction.  I know the Church but never knew about 'consolidated chapelry'.boundaries

.The challenge now is to find the other two markers?
