Bottom of the Moor/St Mary's Gate

My great-great grandparents, William and Sarah Simpson, lived on New George St between about 1860 and 1875. They were 'cow-keepers'. New George St changed its name around 1900 to Boston St and is near St Mary's Gate.  I heard tell of relatives having "a farm down the bottom of the moor". Sarah was a widowed cow-keeper in 1871.

Does anybody know if there was a farm or farms there, and when it stopped being a farm?

Was William also a coal dealer?

More than likely - in May 1860 William Simpson of New George Street was fined £1 10s, as the examiners of weights and measures found that he had in his possession a false and defective beam and scales. His death notice referred to him only as a cowkeeper though (he died aged 39 on 6th September 1869 at New George Street).
