Can anyone throw any light on this structure built within the grounds of Sheffield High School for Girls, Rutland Park please?

It's puzzled me for many a year, and Google searches have got me no nearer!

If only I had remembered that discussion it would have saved me having to find that Historic England information again.

Then again, 9 years is a very long time on Sheffield History :)
