lysandernovo
The church, built in 1933 on Valentine Crescent, has seen some remarkable changes over the last decade or so. It had its own cricket team, had dances, socials, drama group ( the Valentine Players) and was even used as a "centre for displaced persons" after the blitz. Whilst other places of worship on the estate have suffered from a lack of members and some have closed Shiregreen has fully embraced the wider community and now offers ( covid 19 permitting) all manner of services ... as well as worship... The church building has seen extensive internal alterations to accomodate its new role.. A success story and proof that "where there is a will there is a way"! lysandernovo
The long low building was erected in 1933. The taller addition was completed in 1939.
