Acres Hill Junior School, Littledale.

I wonder if there are any others out there who went to the school? I was there, briefly, in 1952/3 and well remember the Headteacher...Miss Pearson and my class teacher...Miss Adams (on?) It was a brand new school , on two floors, with a large play ground ( on which we became addicted to hotch cross) and a grass field. A lovely place for which I have very fond memories. Leaving was a bit of a heart break as I had made many friends and I hated my, fortunately, small stint at Hartley Brook.

The building shown is the separate infant school...erected a few years before the two storey junior school.

The game we played was "hop scotch"....not "hotch cross"...failing memory!😄

I lived in the farthest  (the fifth chimney) of the block of three semis. In the distance is Nunnery Colliery and the rest of the background is made up of the extensive allotments...now the site of CostCO.
