Cabinet Makers Sheffield

Does anyone know if there was a cabinet makers guild or similar that someone might have belonged to 18/1900's that might have information on the people who belonged

My grandfather Joseph Warrington made some lovely furniture but I don't know much about him, he lived on Hodgson Street, he died in 1914 so I never met him

Sorry, I can't help with any cabinet making information.  If it's any help I could forward parish marriage records for both his marriages, and son Frank's WW1 service records. Also a newspaper notice about Joseph's father William assaulting his wife Rebecca in 1877.

Hello Edmund

Sorry I have only just seen your reply, I do have his marriage's information and his son Franks info ( he was my mother's brother ) but I would love to see the newspaper notice about his father assaulting his wife

Thank you Janet

In 1875/6 Wilfred Warrington was living at 33 Orchard lane. He was the son of William and Rebecca (nee Edley). His wife Margaret died in 1895:

Thank you so much Edmond, that is really interesting about my great grandfather, bit of a shock though, the article about Margaret Warrington I have seen before, is very sad, her husband was my grandfather"s brother, one of her son's always kept in touch with my mother, the boys were in a home and sent to Canada as both parents died young

Thanks again

Janet

The 1897 witnesses, Harry and Emma Mosley lived on Moore Street, which was the next street, parallel with Hodgson Street.  Harry was a pocket knife cutler.
