Greentrees
I am researching my great grandfather, Frank Ellis. He was born in 1880 in Sheffield and died in 1951. He was married to Mabel Louise, née Humphries in 1899 and up until his death he lived at Winster Rd, Owlerton. Mabel Louise died in 1924, and he later married Lillian Dunkerley, née Whitehead in 1945. He had a large family and worked in the steel industry as a file grinder. It's a long shot, but any information would be gratefully received!
Edmund
Maybe this 1939 census entry will help? Frank was at 7 Winster Road, working in a wire mill. His future wife and her son were lodging there. According to this they married on 27th February 1946 (not in 1945) Here's Mabel burial record, she died at Firvale Hospital and was buried on New Years Day 1925

EllisSearcher
Hi I also come from a large family of Ellis’s and Elliott’s from around that area, including several Frank’s and Walter’s. I will double check my tree later and let you know if we are connected Sharon Ellis
