Stunmon 5
Who remembers the Bernard Taylor Band who played for dances in the ballroom? I think one band member was called David Clarke. He may have been the drummer? Any memories welcome!!!!
lysander 74
Happy days. A workmate called Desmond Taylor ( no relation I believe) played in the band ,certainly in the 1960.s
johnm 20
Wonderful times at the City Hall ballroom early 1969's ! It was the best ballroom floor in Sheffield with wonderful springing. When we were 18 years old we graduated to The Locarno which was a great venue too.
lysander 74
We used the Locarno, City Hall and, of course, The Cutlers Hall. There were a couple of other dance venues but I have to confess they weren't on my "beat".
Lyn 1 32
How daring were we when we went to a dance at the City Hall at midnight- I think it was Easter and no dancing was allowed being Easter Sunday so they did what they termed an all nighter, midnight - 4am - @ 1962 I think it was. Back in the days of last pints at 10.30 in pubs? Needless to say by 2am we'd had enough. We were not used to such late nights.
