I remember it more or less like this, the store on the left was Kays Household Store owned by the Wheen bros. It ran from the corner of and down the Arcade. I once won a painting competition organised by the cinema.

I used to go there on Saturday morning children's shows in the 1950s - Hoppalong Cassidy, Lone Ranger, Rocket Man....plus some others like Yangtze Incident, maybe Cockleshell Heroes with my parents.

I also used to go on Sat. Mornings, always tried to get seat at back, Three Stooges spring to mind.
