Did anyone get their bread and cakes from Charlton's Bakery on Chesterfield Road in Sheffield?

What do you remember about this place?

I go past this shop very often and always wonder about it's history.

Does anyone know who owns it now or have any contacts in relation to this?

I remember it being Spinks Bakery in the 1960's when I worked at K & F.M. Larder on the corner of Chesterfield Road and Valley Road, lovely couple Mr.& Mrs. Spinks.

Hello Duffems.

I knew a "Spinks" in Heeley, he worked at Expess dairy on Broadfield Road, could have been related?

Hi SteveHB,

I don't know if they were related, it's an unusual surname though so maybe.

I knew a Neil Doherty who worked at Express Dairy in the labs in the 1960's, lovely chap as was his wife, they were neighbours of ours on Alexandra Road Heeley.

Regards,

Duffems
