Just saw this on social media.

We all know the Old Queens Head right?

But take a look to the left at the road but also the corner shop/pub type building?

Anyone know what that was?

That was the original pub before it moved into the bit we now know as the Queen's Head.

Quite right and I seem to remember in the fifties that to the right of the building as a small garage or is my memory failing me?

According to the brewery's web sits, the pub opened in the corner building in 1840 and expanded into the right-hand building "some time after 1862".

The brewery in question is Thwaites, from Lancashire. O tempora, o mores.
