Malinda Posted October 13, 2017 Share Posted October 13, 2017 This appears to be at the bottom of Hammerton Road (on the corner of Langsett Road). The building in the background on the right is the Barrack Chapel on way to Hillsbrough Corner. It's possible that this was one way of indicating the street if there were no signs as we have today. Was the police station on Hammerton Road built when this photograph was taken - if so that could be another reason the name was on the lamp.
