Taylor Moorhead Sheffield.jpg

Let's see if we can solve this puzzler. Here's a 1911 photo of Taylor Cabinet Maker in what is believed to be Sheffield City Centre.

Moorhead Sheffield.jpg

Above the door it clearly says 'Moorhead' but there are no records of this building/business existing at Moorhead so what gives?

Let's get the Sheffield History detectives on the case and see what we can find out...

If the shop was indeed at Moorhead, then my first thoughts are that it might have been one of the corner end shops on the rows of shops that used to make up Button Lane / Furnival Street, but I can't find a likely match on the Picture Sheffield site.

This shop was on the corner of Eyre Stret and Earl Street, but the only photo on PictureSheffield shows the shop on the other corner which is smaller.
