Sheffield History
SHEFFIELD GENERAL POST OFFICE ON HAYMARKET AND COMMERCIAL STREETJust found out this morning that the building on the corner of Commercial Street and Haymarket use to be the old main General Post Office in Sheffield. Think the last time I saw it in use it was a bank (was it Barclays?) Would love to know more about this old post office building so going to do some digging but if anyone knows anything or has any old photos of this place please post them below as I don't think we've ever really looked at this building before

EarthBoy
It became a stock exchange after the post office moved to Fitzalan Square, and when the stock exchange closed it was taken over by Yorkshire Bank. It's empty now.
Sheffield History
Ah ok. Someone mentioned it might still be Yorkshire Bank but not sure that's the case then
tozzin
Further to the old Post Office on Haymarket, look at this photo taken around one hour ago look how the words Post Office have been expertly removed.
