Sugg Sport on Paragon Street

Sheffield History

Recommended Posts

Sugg's sports store, Paragon Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, 1967. Suggs Sports traded for many year in the centre of Sheffield, originally selling more general leisure goods such as TVs radios and toys and games, until moving purely into the sports goods market. In the window can be seen a selection of sports goods including a range of Slazender and Dunlop raquets. The architecture is typical of central Sheffield.

Sugg's also traded for many years, just outside the centre of Sheffield. 70 miles outside to be precise, because this branch of Sugg's was in Hull..... lol

Been here before, in 2011

Looks like my email correcting at the time had no effect and the error has remained and is spreading as the image and text appears elsewhere.

I was just about to say I didn't recognise the buildings nor the street or the way the street sign is mounted on a lighting column with a type of light fitting alien to the Sheffield of 1967. As you say the photo and details are widespread on the net.
