Guest tsavo Posted June 15, 2007 Share Posted June 15, 2007 The Palace, Crookes Road, opened in 1912. Its sister cinema was the Western Picture Palace. The capacity was around 800 and the raised area at the rear was only about 3 feet higher than the stalls but was grandly called the balcony. I attended the last film shown, Babette goes to War, starring Bridget Bardot. The year was 1960.
