Guest Dick Lindsay Posted July 7, 2016 Share Posted July 7, 2016 My Great Uncle 11356 Sgt Joseph Lindsay of 7th Serv Batt Yorkshire Regt was given a Certifcate in Vellum by the Royal Humane Society for an event on the 23rd July 1916. Trying to find out what he did and where?,but can't find anything reported in the local papers at the time of the presentation he was seconded to Messers Vickers by the army Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It states on The War Office letter on my first post in reply to your question in recognition of their gallant conduct in attempting to save life. Sorry i have searched the Newspapers for the next 2 years after the event and can find nothing but as he got promoted on that same date could it be due to bravery in a Army situation ??
