We've had quite a few mentions of bottles lately, mineral water and ale.  \But where were they made - was it locally?  And how were they transported - presumably by rail but then by horse and cart on poor roads?  I used to work in a brewery and the empty bottles were very fragile, though I guess these old ones were more substantial.

They made a lot of glass fairly locally. Mostly in Rotherham. Not sure if there were glassworks in Sheffield. I know they made spectacles in Sheffield and other kinds of lens.

Picture/link #03 is incorrect, it shows Pond Steet Brewery, not Norfolk Brewery.
