Unsure about rabbits .... but looks like they were there a while as a family business :

Samuel Sharman, grocer and Italian warehouse, Spring House, Glossop Road (White's 1833), plus picturesheffield 1960's to 1970's,

I seem to remember that a large pigs head made of plaster and painted was always in the shop window.
