Hi I am looking for info about Bishop Hill from around 1940, I was born there in 1957. From my mother;s BC I noted No. 19 Bishop Hill. All the house go up on the evens, with just a few in the odds on the opposite side. At the moment I cannot think where the early odds would have been. Does anyone have any historical maps?

I have only one image of Bishop's Hill, taken 07/02/1977, which I attach herewith.

Unfortunately, it was not one of those areas of Woodhouse that I looked at in depth, essentially, because it was never "threatened" at that time, unlike other parts of the village.

I think that I was probably right in that respect, as I believe that you could take a very similar photograph, from the self-same spot today.

If I recall, the road was only partially metalled and possibly un-adopted.

I have found 19 Bishop Hill. The houses were re numbered in 1934. What's now 42 to 50 was 16 to 20. I now have copy of original deeds of the plot of land dating back to 1879. If anyone is interested message me on Facebook with an email address and I will forward bits on.
