Guest PMG50
Might be a quick answer, but does anyone know of any back-to-back houses that still exist in Sheffield? I was speaking to someone this week who thought a small number were still in the Attercliffe area and were never demolished? Cheers all!
bensonhedges
I don't think there are any left, but am happy to be corrected. It was once suggested on a similar discussion that this little terrace on Milton Street had originally been back-to-back but had been converted since. I have no idea if that's true or not. http://goo.gl/maps/6tTsp
vox
It looks as though no's 98 and 100 were back to back with the court behind.
Lyn 1
None remain. The last one was demolished a few years ago. Lyn

Guest PMG50
What a shame that the council didn't decide to keep a small number if indeed they are all gone.
lysander
Sheffield Corporation was more intent on providing decent, healthy living accomodation than whistfully saving any of the dreadful back-backs in the hopes that later generations might want to look at them. carol cooper
I believe that the houses on Swan St, Attercliffe were back to back, behind the Pavilion picture house but no longer there.

saw119
The houses on Milton street were built back to back but, quite understandably, have been converted. However, they maintain their exterior appearance as back to backs and, as far as I am aware, are the only examples left in Sheffield. They are also listed and located in a conservation area. There is also a row of blind back houses on Canning Street off Division Street which are very interesting to go and look at.
