hilldweller
Just happened to have a look on the FlightRadar24.com website to see if there was anything interesting happening above and came across a small aircraft over Sheffield. Clicked on it to see what it was and was suprised to see that it has been tootling around in straight north/south lines over various districts of Sheffield. Looked it up and it's an aerial survey aircraft, an Partenavia P68 Observer. It appears to have taken off from a small airfield near Market Drayton (Tatenhill (EGBM). On another forum there was a lot of mention of similar flights a little while ago and one poster seemed to indicate that it was for some official purpose "but he wasn't at liberty to disclose" what it was. I can't think it was something to do with the road repair programme because surely they could do that better from terra firma. Any ideas anyone ?
