Saw these just down in the Don near Kelham Island, the river must be getting cleaner. The fisherman was at the Blonk St bridge just at the side if Victoria Station approach.

Nice to see it isn't it tozzin.

It's absolutely brilliant, just prior to seeing these fish, I saw a Kingfisher on the Don at Corporation St bridge, could you imagine what the area must have looked like in the 15 & 16th century, Deer, Wild Boar, Salmon, Trout, Wolves, Beaver etc. what did we do? At least it's coming back albeit slowly.

As far back as (90's?) I remember someone having caught a/some fish somewhere around Keham Island. Quite a big deal at the time.

I worked on Mowbray Street but I can't for the life of me remember when that was.

I was catching fish in the Don at Club Mill Lane, Neepsend in the 1980's, I was also amongst the first permit holders when the S.& D.A.A. (Sheffield & District Aangling Association), leased a section of the river at Thurgoland/Wortley, that would have been around 1970.
