vox
A few google results for Sales Row Tinsley so it looks like the area is Tinsley rather than Carbrook. Just to narrow it down a fraction.
Edmund
The 1911 census enumerator (Frederick William Shirt) walked southwards from Tinsley Bridge along Shepcote Lane, taking in Carbrook Steel Works, Thos Wards works, Burns Terrace, Cookes Steel Wire and Rope Works, the Railway Station House, then the 24 house of Sales Row, followed by Edgar Allens, Hadfields, the sewage pumping station, another Railway Station House, the Canal Lock House, then on to Woodside Road. The description of the area referes to "Peacock". Still living at number 11 Sales Row were the Hughes family - their son James Hughes, an 18 year old boiler firer, had been injured in the 1884 boiler explosion at the William Cooke Steel and Iron Works. The 1893 and 1905 OS map shows the row of houses and names them as "New Row": By 1923 the OS map names the houses Peacock Row and many of the back to backs had been knocked through. The houses are now the site of a wind turbine.
