Edmund Posted February 9, 2014 Share Posted February 9, 2014 According to the FAQ information on http://www.old-maps.co.uk/faq.html it appears that symbols can have a different meaning depending on the scale of the map. For example, at one scale, the circle with a line symbol can denote the end of a built up area (I guess to show the difference between a field and a building).
