I was taking photos of Cruck Barn in Concord Park and noticed a cluster of interesting old buildings just across from there. Presumably there are part of the Oaksfold hamlet? Can't find any details about ages of buildings and who lived there. Read something about Fork manufacturer but couldn't find details. How old is Concord Park itself?

Here's an extract from my family tree. Don't know much about Oaks Fold though (yet!):

William Wilkinson (son of William) baptised at St Mary's on 26th Aug 1838. In 1841 was at Butterthwaite Wheel in the Hamlet of Hartley Brook, Low Shiregreen, with parents William and Ann, brothers George Joseph, John. In 1851 a 12 year old fork grinder living at Butterthwaite Wheel with parents William and Ann, brothers George, William and Thomas. In 1861 a Forkgrinder at Butterthwaite Wheel with parents and brother Thomas. In 1871 a Forkgrinder (32) at Nether Shiregreen with wife Annice (28) and sons Smith (3), William (2) and daughter Hannah (1 month). In 1881 a Forkgrinder at Oaks Fold, Shiregreen with wife Annice, sons Smith (13 Forkgrinder), William (12) and daughters Hannah (10), Sarah E (8), Florence (6). William died by 1891 (probably Jan/Feb/Mar1885) and Annice is still at Oaks Fold with son Smith, daughters Sarah E, Eva (9) and Clara (8). In 1901 Annice is living at Oaks Fold with her daughter-in-law Fanny Wilkinson (28 from Rotherham). Annice was buried at St Marys on 13th April 1901 aged 56, her abode was Shiregreen.

The Sheffield Indexers have an old article transcribed on their website here:

Shiregreen Forkmaking (Indexers)

and heres the original book complete with drawings and maps:
