Loxley House Royal Navy Warship Figurehead

This might be a tough one!

Anyone any idea what ship the figure head was from - shown in Picturesheffield photo? According to Ron Clayton it was burnt when the RN. owned the house and it was known as "Training Ship Sheffield".

Sea cadet base. Its MASSIVE so must have been off a major battleship

In response to Miked's query of today regarding the above.

The figurehead was from a C19th RN Monitor- a shallow draught gunboat [i'm no expert] used for the suppression of piracy/slavery in African/South American etc river's.

That's all I know but TS Sheffield [based off the Wicker] may have some further information.Certainly it was sheer,bloody vandalism.
