Horse At Commonside

Couldn't let this pass by without a couple of photos. :)

You can take a horse to Walkley but you can't make it drink.

Did you find out the story behind the horse?

Where it came from and where it is going to? Curious.

You may or may not be surprised to know that, stupidly, I didn't ask.

A bag of hay to anyone who can come up with the answer. :)

Would any of of our members know the answer ? I doubt it.

Think we need to to put the question to a wider audience, like ..... 'Sheffield forum'

Which all reminds me:

Has anyone got a photo of Horse and Rider on Crookes from the time when "Elvis" stood in the window.

He was moved further back into the shop for some time, well before the shop closed.

One of those things that you should take a picture of, but don't get round to, because you think there's always tomorrow. Then, of course, it's too late.

According to "The Star" article, he has been re-homed to a riding school in Rotherham, but it doesn't say where exactly.

Just came across this old topic. For a couple of weeks the horse has been tethered to a post outside the New Roots shop on Glossop Rd, with an advert written on his side. (Although it wasn't there last Monday).
