syrup Posted December 3, 2012 Share Posted December 3, 2012 Without intent to belittle or cause grief about the above story, An old friend of mine who sadly i have not seen for many years Married a Young Lady from a village outside Barnsley who had a rather loud voice was telling some one on the Bus to Sheffield about the Gas Tank Explosion problem was she thought they were being polite by calling it Effingham Street. ceegee Posted December 4, 2012 Share Posted December 4, 2012 A very interesting article - never heard of the tragedy before Attached are two reports of the Inquest that was held in May 1974 One is from The Times dated 3rd May 1974 and the other from The Guardian.of the same date I am sure that the local press will have a more comprehensive report. A verdict of accidental death does seem to be "generous" given the evidence that was produced at the Inquest but that is just my opinion Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
