Does anyone know what year the college-which was on Fulwood Rd between Gladstone Rd & Graham Rd-was demolished? I assume it was called Ranmoor College which is the first picture that comes up when you key in 'colleges' on Picture Sheffield.

According to Peter Warr's excellent book on Ranmoor, the University changed the name to Ranmoor House in 1947, and it was demolished in 1965.

The front steps in the picture on the news letter survived until the new flats were built. As children the site was a great playground, topically we had a few great bonfires on the site in the mid 70s, one year we gathered loads of wood from a builder who was demolishing a house nearby, the bonfire that year rivaled the one in Endcliffe park until the fire brigade arrived.
