Bayleaf
A slip of the shorthand perhaps? Did they have spellcheckers in 1911?
hilldweller
A slip of the shorthand perhaps? Did they have spellcheckers in 1911? Diplomate-----------------A person who has been awarded a diploma. Diplomated I guess might have been a term in use at the time to mean he was a holder of a diploma in shorthand proficiency. johnm
Anthony Morris was an ancestor of mine. 486 Staniforth Rd was his "office" address & 146 Steade Rd was his parents house , but in 1911 they were away for a time living in Wakefield so I think he housesat there. Family tradition has it that he was the fastest Pitmans shorthand writer in England.
