DaveH
The person who has written the message on the back has included the date they wrote it, 9-7-42 (9 July 1942) However we don't know how long the postcard had been on general issue before being used. Although it is illegible I would assume that the post office stamp franking mark would carry a similar date,

Stuart0742
Not quite .. picturesheffield t03161 - 1937 or 1938. Picture Sheffield's postcard is 216495 which again confirms the actual photograph is 1932, but as we know postcard companies use photos for a number of years. DaveH
Picture Sheffield's postcard is 216495 which again confirms the actual photograph is 1932, but as we know postcard companies use photos for a number of years. ..then people buy them, keep them for ages and then post them years later. So it could be a 1932 picture, made into a card in 1937/8 and posted in 1942. Nowt like sending someone a postcard with a 10 years old picture on the front, - it's a piece of history!
