dunsbyowl1867
From "Sheffield in the 1930's by Peter Harvey. "A! road census carried out in 1935 showed that the city's busiest road, The Wicker, was used by 11,127 motor vehicles, 729 horses, 7,303 cyclists and 3,279 tram cars on an average day. A former Corporation transport manager committee chairman predicted that at some time in the future Sheffield would build a tunnel, like the Mersey Tunnel, from Moorhead to Waingate, to keep traffic out of the city centre." I imagine today it would be 0 trams, 0 horse 3 cyclists and the same number of motor vehicles due to the congestion!
