Hi,

I am a new member from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. My late father was Sheffield born and bred. He claimed his Sheffield ancestors went back at least to the 1780s. My grandfather, George Fowler was born in 1891 and lived at 80 Club Garden Rd Eccesall-Bierlow. He died in Hyde, Cheshire in 1957. Beyond him there were a lot of John and William Fowlers in Sheffield over the years. I think this lot were moulders and later iron founders connected with the Sheaf Foundry and then with the Don Foundry.

I am hoping to find out a bit more about these fellows. I'm sure some questions will come up, but for now, do you have any suggestions about where I can find more information on the Sheaf Foundry?
