RichardB
Just as a bit of a challenge for those that like them. It is for the purposes of this exercise 1847. Define, as precisely as you can the boundries of the following districts please : Moorfields Holliscroft Eldon Dyers Hill Heeley Open to all except SteveHB, Steve will be in receipt of the "answer" and may be able to apply some "map-magic" to illustrate the answer. RichardB
Any guess to start - then we can narrow it down. Any maps from the time giving a general clue please?
HughW
This map shows the Ecclesiastical Parishes covering some of these areas: http://www.sheffield...heffieldMap.jpg (the St Luke's which isn't Dyer's Hill is Hollis Croft) This map was compiled by Eric Youle, I think. I don't what period it represents, and parish boundaries did change over time. ** This map, one of my favourites, is good for showing the boundaries of Heeley: http://upload.wikime...effield1832.jpg
