togger
Hi All, I have the name I have the Death Certificate I have Sub District of Sheffield where died I dont have where he is buried Details: NAME: John Bacon AGE: 79 Years DIED: 4th October 1916 WHERE: Sheffield Union Hospital DISTRICT: West Brightside HOME ADDRESS: Leeds Road, Sheffield Any help would be much appreciated please
History dude
I've searched the Sheffield Indexers site which lists many burials and he's not in either City, Burngreave or the others listed on the site. There are plenty of Bacon's, but the only John listed died aged 43 and before that date. I found him in the 1911 census at Eadon Road Attercliffe. My best guess would be try the records or go looking at Tinsley Park Cem. :)

HughW
How do you do that ? Lots of practice with a limited (but useful) group of transcribed records. Anything more than 7.4 miles from Vulcan or earlier than 1 July 1837 and I tend to get a nosebleed.

THYLACINE
Thank you, yes, I am almost sure it's the first one you listed. As far as I know he had no middle name. Do you have any more information please?
History dude
The 1911 Census isn't showing any William Downs living in Sheffield of the age stated. There is one in Bradford of that age. This one for Glossop And this one with another name first name! And wrong age!! Also found a marriage of William dated Oct-Dec 1953 to Gertrude A Eaton in Sheffield.
