W/E. Any, or all of the panels that appear in the R/H column can be hidden from view, just click on the x at the side.
Stuart0742
Further info If you click the X just in the black band at the top right, this will hide all the panels completely, the only way to get back is to clear the cookie "Sheffield History - Hide Sidebar"
madannie77
Which is good to know, and probably explains why I don't see these updates (although I don't remember ever seeing them). But it does not address the issue of why some people think it is acceptable to post inappropriate, foul-mouthed, lewd and crude comments and jokes (?) on this site. There are many places on the interweb thingy where such items can be posted, but I do not think a forum concerned with anecdotal, factual and genealogical history is one of them. My mistake so you can, at least its not obvious you probably would not find it if you were not looking for it. But as MA says this not address the issue, but thats the problem with Facebook anything seems to go.

With my apologies to Cole Porter for this one, - In olden days a glimpse of stocking Was looked on as something shocking, But now, Heaven knows, Anything Goes. Good authors too who once knew better words, Now only use four letter words Writing prose, Anything Goes. Just sounded appropriate to what is being said here
