I am interested in finding out what was there before the building which now houses a kitchen showroom and previously Smith Widdowson & Eadem hardware suppliers which stands at 296 Penistone Road-opposite The New Barrack Tavern,Can anyone help?

Not a lot looking at a 1950's map, looks like an enclosed area with vehicle access.

Thanks Steve,would you know when the current building was erected? I am confused as only 100 yards along the road the building is numbered 480.

Thanks to everyone for your help.I have looked for pictures on Picture Sheffield to no avail (apart from Smith Widdowson at 296).Are their any other sites for pictures?

According to A Pub On Every Corner there was a pub opposite The Barrack Tavern called The British Queen,although there are no dates.Does a picture exist of this place?
