ukelele lady
Are there many of these Victorian post boxes still around in Sheffield? I know there are plenty of in the wall boxes but are they Victorian? I spotted this one on Stannington Road. I wonder if there are many Victorian standing ones left? vox
Well that's something new (or old depending on how you look at it) to keep an eye out for UkeLass.

Thanks Dave. I knew of the one outside the Cathedral and what a lovely shape that one is. I didn't know of the one in Pinstone Street. It's the in the wall boxes that intrigue me. There must be others around.

There used to be a very nice 'in the wall' Victorian one at the junction of Whiteley Wood Rd and Ivy Cottage Lane, until it got stolen a few years ago! ukelele lady
Are there many of these around? Obviously none will be in working order but I wonder when the last stamps were bought from this one. I admire how it has been nicely painted and not neglected just because it's not in use. Calvin72
On Attercliffe Road - this one is a bit plain without the ornate lettering style - does that make it older or newer than the style in the pic above? At the bottom is a makers name ; W.T Allen & Co, London.
