dunsbyowl1867 Posted May 1, 2007 Share Posted May 1, 2007 In the 1970's everything was so grimy you couln't tell but as you can see in this photograph the rear part of the town hall was still a different colour having been built in 1923. This is from 1938 after St Paul's church had been demolished. What a shame to have lost that fine building behind the town hall with the tower - was Rodgers cutlery factory? That was to restore Civic Pride, Leeds and Manchester had great Town Halls, Sheffield's was shite, Waingate, the one before that was even less well-respected, reviled even.
