Stuart0742
Not enough detail as it is a low res image, resembles Brunswick Road to me If it is Walker St running right to left, seems plausible given Joshua Wigfull, is it Brunswick Rd that runs through the arch, if so was this cut of when Derek Dooley way was built and the raiway was altered <iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=embed&hl=en&geocode=&q=brunswick+rd+sheffield&aq=&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=19.228226,56.381836&vpsrc=6&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Brunswick+Rd,+Sheffield,+United+Kingdom&ll=53.391366,-1.46076&spn=0.002374,0.006883&t=m&z=14&layer=c&cbll=53.388761,-1.463029&panoid=qnmhktMHoUPOoz5kD5D_LQ&cbp=12,56.64,,0,0&output=svembed"></iframe><br /><small><a href="http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=embed&hl=en&geocode=&q=brunswick+rd+sheffield&aq=&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=19.228226,56.381836&vpsrc=6&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Brunswick+Rd,+Sheffield,+United+Kingdom&ll=53.391366,-1.46076&spn=0.002374,0.006883&t=m&z=14&layer=c&cbll=53.388761,-1.463029&panoid=qnmhktMHoUPOoz5kD5D_LQ&cbp=12,56.64,,0,0" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">View Larger Map</a></small>

vox
For many years this was the site of the concrete skeleton of a burned out building. I think it may have burned down in the early 70's Seem to remember it having been Wigfalls. http://g.co/maps/yp5hq
Waterside Echo
Thanks, it is Henry Wigfall & Son Ltd. furniture dealers (stores). In the 1965 directory, so Wigfull became Wigfall. No. Henry Wigfall started as a motor repairer in the 1920s. Joshua Wigfull had been milling flour for over 200 years. Coincidence though that Wigall's finished up in Wigfull's premises On Walker Street, or was it. ? W/E.

It was built at great expense due to the terrain and was not very old when Wigfalls got taken over, it was up for sale for ages until the interior was burnt out. After the fire the shell and freehold went up for sale then it was demolished, 'neddy' might know what year ? I had a great aunt that lived in a cottage on or near that site, they were pulled down in the 1950s. W/E.
