DaveH
SIR Jimmy Saville OBE He may have ancestry going back a long way into wealthy landowners in Yorkshire, - but he himself was extremely benevolent and philantropic and of extraordinary generosity. He just did so much for other people and charities over the years. OK, he may have been seen by some as being a bit eccentric, but what a fantastically nice guy he was. I was lucky enough to have met Jimmy twice in my life. The first time was at York Rally in 1961, the second on the sea front at Scarborough in 1985. A truly genuine guy indeed. W/E. I wonder if any of our members have not only been lucky enough to meet Jimmy but also have a JIM'LL FIX IT medal for having appeared on his show. ...or perhaps some of our (most likely female) members actually appeared on the "rent a crowd ravers and dancers" with him on TOP OF THE POPS
Guest JSP
I often bumped into him in and around Scarborough - he always said hello :)
