neddy
i lived at 38,pickering road from 1953 till 1974...........i vividly remember watching some of the filming and being moved on once or twice,as we were in view of the cameras............we spent all day hanging around as it was the school holidays august 1967.............but the best memmory is of a gang of us walking to a match at hillsborough,....sheff wed v leicester city august 23rd wednesday evening..........we often walked up wallace road then down to farfield road, then onto club mill road and came out at the back of the speedway track at owlerton.............but this particular evening as we trundled up wallace road,we passed a black limosine parked near to the top of wallace road.............the window slowly wound down and a deep scouser accent bellowed out.''......you'll lose tonight lads...''............we turned round and saw antony booth's smiling face beaming at us........i know we instantly replied but cannot remember what we said.........i dont think that we swore .......i just think we sang something like....''liverpool are crap''.........or we just booed him........................anyway we won 2-1,so he really knew nothing aboot football...........i seem to remember that there was about 12 of us but cannot remember who was with me for definate............but i am sure the following names were there.............david cooper, clifford shaw, melvyn strutt, wilfy mills, eric boocock, trevor wakelin, david loxley, stephen hibberd, paul rawlings....ect......ect.............picture no 2 is of the acual house they filmed in on wallace road A pair of overalls and you'd look just like your dad. SteveHB
I think picture #11 is at the eastern end of Cricket Inn Road, approaching bottom of Manor Lane. It is the bottom of Manor Lane.

russbeck
hi you are bang right with the locations of stills 1 2 and3 the terraced houses seen in 2 on granville st overlooked the old ponds forge. i actually stood and watched these scenes being filmed. as a kid around 12 or 13 years old. we knew Tony Booth as the scouse git from the bbc tv comedy programme with alf garnett. incidently the older lady behind the jag with the shopping bag.was recruited as an extra. You are absolutely bang on, in fact as a kid I too stood and watched them filming one of the scenes. I lived on Granville road but was always out and about on my pushbike. Looking over the railings in the picture you can see the corner entrance to the Rag N Tag market.

Here's a few stills from the Girl With Pistol movie that are supposedly of Sheffield Girl With Pistol - Picture 1 Girl With Pistol - Picture 2 Girl With Pistol - Picture 3 Girl With Pistol - Picture 4 Girl With Pistol - Picture 5 Girl With Pistol - Picture 6 Girl With Pistol - Picture 7 Girl With Pistol - Picture 8 Girl With Pistol - Picture 9 Do you recognise any of the locations ? It’s now many a year ago of course but I still, well, recall ‘ walking into the scene’ with my aunt who was on business at a nearby church - St Johns .....that is, at least, we saw the actors who to be more accurate, may have been finishing filming a scene...I certainly don’t recall us being ushered away by anyone but the then popular tv actor (star of ‘Til Death Us Do Part’) and much later in time, father in law of Blair, of course was there to be seen, at close quarters, along with others....though at this distance, I don’t recall the famous Italian actress, Monica Viti .....probably wouldn’t even have recognised her. An experience which has stayed with me for over half a century and which I often recall. Interestingly though, I don’t ever recall seeing the film until it was networked ( in fact a couple of times) during the last couple of years on Freeview TPTV....and watching it by chance, the locations suddenly became very familiar!
